Maestro Barack Obama's histrionics in New York and Pittsburgh Thursday and Friday, Sept. 24-25 - and his threat of "confrontation" for Iran's concealment of its nuclear capabilities - were water off a duck's back for Tehran, whose nuclear weapons program has gone too far to stop by words or even sanctions.
The Islamic regime only responded with more defiance, announcing that its second uranium enrichment plant near Qom would become operational soon.
The US president's tough words and willingness to step out of his axiomatic insistence on dialogue and turn to economic warfare against Iran may be impressive but it is no longer effective.
Tehran is too close to its goal of a nuclear weapons capability to be deterred by offers of engagement or economic penalties.
Obama certainly knows this. He also understands that Iran is now unstoppable except by force.
His performance was therefore directed at another target: Israel, whom he is determined to dissuade from resorting to military action against Iran's nuclear installations...

Excerpt. Highlight added:
...It is not hard to see why a standing ovation awaits the president at Turtle Bay. Obama’s popularity at the UN boils down essentially to his willingness to downplay American global power. He is the first American president who has made an art form out of apologizing for the United States, which he has done on numerous occasions on foreign soil, from Strasbourg to Cairo...
It is natural that much of the UN will embrace an American president who declines to offer strong American leadership. A president who engages dictators like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez will naturally gain respect from the leaders of the more than 100 members of the United Nations ...a vast melting pot of free societies, socialist regimes and outright tyrannies. Obama’s clear lack of interest in human rights issues is a big seller at the UN, where at least half its members have poor human rights records.
The Obama administration is now overseeing and implementing the biggest decline in American global power since Jimmy Carter. Unfortunately it may well take another generation for the United States to recover.

...all we need to know about Maureen Dowd...
...In a column entitled Boy, oh, Boy, New York Times writer Maureen Dowd said she heard it. Unspoken or not, according to Dowd, Joe Wilson shouted out “you lie, boy!” at the president of the United States.
So here’s a woman--a journalist, by some accounts at least--who...feels it necessary to completely fabricate racist statements and project them onto a white congressman--who, in reality, did not say or even insinuate anything of the sort--when she feels the need to protect the president by distracting from damaging facts and arguments....

About the only people paying any serious attention to Obamacare are the nation’s senior citizens, the only legitimately mature population and they don’t like it. If there’s one thing getting old teaches, it is that there is always some lowlife trying to rip you off. Frequently these people are politicians.
While the eyes of millions glaze over, the President continues to repeat the same incomprehensible gibberish about redistributing the wealth, insuring the uninsured, expanding healthcare,..
As devoid of conscience as they are, a goodly number know that Obamacare is just a scam to pay off the unions and that their own mother may have to fly to Belize to get a boil pierced or wait six months...
..Waiting in the wings for the same overload of deception is the Cap-and-Trade bill that will prove the coup de grace to the nation’s economy.
Obama isn’t fun any more. He’s the annoying kid who’s so desperate for attention, applause, and love that only his girlfriend will put up with him...

Of course he is...Karl Rove told Bill O'Reilly tonight that "Barack Obama is deliberately misleading the public" on his health care bill. Obama keeps telling Americans that his health care bill will not increase the deficit.
This is demonstrably false and Obama knows it. But, he keeps saying it anyway:
by Bill Levinson
Barack Obama’s health care speech of Wednesday September 9 accused his opponents of lying, “plain and simple,” when they said his health care plan included “death panels” that would cut off health care to senior citizens, chronically ill people, and other forms of Lebensunwertes Leben (”life unworthy of life”). House Bill 3200 does not, contrary to various allegations on blogs and talk radio, call for the establishment of such panels. Barack Obama, on the other hand, did, and Sarah Palin’s allegation about “death panels” is therefore 100 percent accurate.
- THE PRESIDENT: So that’s where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues. But that’s also a huge driver of cost, right? I mean, the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here.
Interviewer: So how do you — how do we deal with it?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think that there is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And that’s part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. It’s not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And that’s part of what I suspect you’ll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.
Right, Barry, a panel of doctors, scientists, and ethicists that will make “difficult decisions” outside “normal political channels.” Panels like these, Barry?

(from a comment on this post by Ayn Reagan)...Obama: …What we can do is make sure some of the waste that exists in the system that’s not making anyone’s mom better –that is loading up on additional tests or additional drugs– that the evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve care –that at least we can let doctors know and your mom know that, you know what, maybe this isn’t going to help. That maybe you’re better off not having the surgery but taking the painkiller. ….

I’m lying in my Tiffany blue bedroom, in the dark, listening to the President tell lies. He’s so good at it, that he is smiling and lots of people are clapping.
He says, “Public Option. No one will have to change, if they like their present situation.” LIE.
He says, “My plan will not add one dime to the deficit.” LIE. (Congressional Budget Committee speak up!)
He says that if we don’t act now, the country will fall apart. LIE.He says that quality of health care won’t suffer. LIE
He says that there won’t be rationing and those that say there will be are liars. LIE.
He says that the Republicans have no solutions to offer up. LIE (Several of them lift papers into the air.)He says that this is not socialism. LIE
He says this is the “moral” thing to do! LIE (Take money from the middle class and give it to the non-taxpayers and illegals?!)
He says this won’t insure the illegals! LIE….
And then, wait, I choke on my caffeine-free Diet Coke… Like a voice from above, I think I just heard someone shout out, just what I was thinking, ”LIE!”
I can’t believe it! Someone used the real word, not the politically correct word, “Disingenuous!” Nancy Pelosi’s big, arrogant smile suddenly drops and she looks over to the Republican side of the room with the mean glare of a stern librarian!
This is fantastic theatre! (more…)
Lie - R - In saying one more thing about Obama being a liar........he is a liar.
Was Rep. Joe Wilson responding in kind? -...calling someone a liar just isn't done in Washington. At least publicly. Just about any synonym--fabrication, prevarication, fiction--can be used, but never, ever is someone publicly accused of lying.
It's just not done.
Until Wednesday night, when the unwritten stricture was broken by ... Barack Obama.
...Yet, Obama was calling some of the people seated before him, liars, in front of a national television audience...
Flick Off Obama -What congressional decorum is there in an environment where the lie is now Undisputed King?

Some unprecedented news today, folks. Never in the history of the United Nations has a U.S. President taken the chairmanship of the powerful UN Security Council. Perhaps it is because of what could arguably be a Constitutional prohibition against doing so. To wit: Section 9 of the Constitution says:
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.
However, this time will be different. Constitution be damned, Barack Hussein Obama has decided to put HIMSELF in the drivers seat, and will preside over global nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament talks slated to begin September 24th.
The Financial Times says:
- Barack Obama will cement the new co-operative relationship between the US and the United Nations this month when he becomes the first American president to chair its 15-member Security Council.

Just one day after President Obama plans tries to recapture the initiative in the health-care debate with a speech to a joint session of Congress, thousands of taxpayers plan to storm Washington, D.C., in a three-day event to take their fight against excessive spending, bailouts, growth of big government and soaring deficits to the front door of the U.S. Capitol.
In a major movement unaffiliated with – but inspired by – Fox News' Glenn Beck's 9-12 Project, called the National Taxpayer Protest, thousands of Americans are answering the call and traveling to make their voices heard at Capitol Hill.
Sept. 10 marks the kickoff of the three-day march on Washington.
...Brendan Steinhauser of FreedomWorks, one of the groups organizing the Sept. 12 event, told WND, "We're expecting a huge gathering at the Washington, D.C., armory in the morning, and we'll talk about bailouts, cap and trade and health care. The feedback has been great. It's been phenomenal. Everybody wants to be a part of the event, and it's exciting."
The National Taxpayer Protest Facebook page hosts more than 2,200 members. Some comments include:
I can't wait. It's time for Congress to listen instead of dictate
I will be going and taking the whole family with me.
Let's take back America and put it in the hands of those who truly care for the interests of this nation and its people!
- This is more than important – it is imperative. I am going to try to go! Hope to see y'all there!
- I'm spending hundreds of dollars to get there from Las Vegas, and it's worth every penny!
- This is a good start. We have to stand up and fight for our rights and our future!
Steinhauser said attendees will begin arriving today and hotels will quickly fill up. Excitement is building, he said, and some have indicated they will not wait to take their message to lawmakers and the president.
"I talked to some people from Arizona, Pennsylvania and North Carolina who are coming in today," he said. "There's been talk of a spontaneous protest while Obama is giving his address for people to stand on Pennsylvania Avenue tonight and sort of set it off. There's a lot of energy."
...Several organizations have united to help organize the National Taxpayer Protest's descent on the Capitol, including: Freedom Works, Grassfire/ResistNet, Tea Party Patriots, National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Americans for Tax Reform, Young Americans for Liberty, Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights, Our Country Deserves Better, Campaign for Liberty, Leadership Institute, Free Republic, Young America's Foundation, the National Association of Rural Land Owners and Smart Girl Politics.
"Our mission is to present a unified voice of concern over the current administration's policies regarding taxation, our economy, foreign and domestic policy, as well as our individual constitutional rights as American citizens," said Grassfire national coordinator Darla Dawald in an open invitation to the public to join the Sept. 12 taxpayer march in Washington, D.C.
"America is in trouble, the problems and issues are broad and complex and it will take a monumental effort to stop, change and reverse the destructive course that this administration and Congress has put us on. Together, We the People can effect that change!"
...Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots told WND the groups are focused on "protecting the values and principles that have made America the greatest nation for future generations."
Steinhauser told WND, "People want to do this. The people who have been protesting around the country want to come to Washington and do this in D.C. In a lot of ways, they are being ignored and the media is underrepresenting them and their numbers. They want to come together for one big event and send a very clear message."
..."They're saying that your voice doesn't count and that you will not be heard," he said. "At the 9-12 Taxpayer March on Washington we have an opportunity to show them just how wrong they are."

This is something the president has proven himself very good at doing; ginning up fear over the consequences of not passing one of his agenda items.
- ...Obama must recapture the sense of urgency that led to passage of the economic rescue package in February, analysts said.
- "At the moment, except for the people without insurance, we're not in a health-care crisis," said Stephen Wayne, a professor of government at Georgetown University in Washington. "You do need a crisis to generate movement in Congress and to help build a consensus."
Never let a crisis go to waste, eh Rahmbo?
It will be interesting to see how Obama frames the issue to develop a sense of urgency for reforming something the overwhelming majority of Americans believe needs some tweaking but not catastrophic overhaul.
My guess will be that he simply makes stuff up to get what he wants. He's done it before;... And it is likely that he will lie about the "crisis" in health care to try and get that passed as well.
